STYLISH LADIES AND GENTS RACEDAY AT THIRSK...

Rudding Park, Harrogate sponsored the Stylish Dressed competitions at Thirsk Racecourse last Saturday and attracted a colourful range of outfits amongst the racegoers.

The popular venue also sponsored the Rudding Park Handicap and the field opted to race down the stands side of the course.

Trainer Jim Goldie was responsible for the three quarters of a length winner, Eternal Sunshine ridden by Lauren Young.

Action began with the Rowland Family Day Out Nursery Handicap with five runners taking part.

Real Man was slowly away before closing on the outside but his rivals had more pace approaching the line with bottom weight Dunkeld Dreamer, sent off at 9/1, gaining a neck advantage, followed home by Mr Moonshine.

The field fanned out across the course in the five-furlong Constant Security Services Nursery and 9/2 chance Dazzling Haze, a Newmarket challenger accelerated away from her rivals to win by a length. U Turn was the runner-up.

Jockey Hollie Doyle gave Simplify a positive ride in the 16-runner British Stallion Studs EBF Restricted Novice Stakes and led the field throughout the second half of the race before pulling further clear of her rivals to record a two-length success.
